Marble, travertine, and brushed aluminium are refined materials that require gentle and specific care to preserve their appearance over time.
Marble and travertine are soft, porous natural stones that should be protected from acidic, greasy, or liquid substances. We recommend using coasters to avoid direct contact with the surface. If any spills occur, wipe them immediately with a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water. For more stubborn stains, use a specialised natural stone cleaner, available from hardware or specialist stores. These surfaces are pre-treated with a water-repellent coating, which should be renewed once a year using a suitable product to maintain protection against moisture and staining.
Brushed aluminium is also a sensitive material requiring careful maintenance. To clean, apply a few drops of cleaning oil such as WD-40 to a soft (non-precious) cloth – as the metal's black patina may transfer – and gently wipe the surface. This will help remove marks such as fingerprints and minor irregularities, while leaving a light protective layer. To avoid scratching, always lift objects rather than sliding them across the surface.
