Seeing Life in Pink

Seeing Life in Pink

Pink is this season’s go-to colour! Whether we’re talking powder pink, raspberry, terracotta or bubble gum – we can’t get enough of it and we want it from floor to ceiling. It’s feel-good presence lights up our home, puts our furniture into perspective and contrasts joyfully with what we’re used to seeing. The very softness of pink is a must for details in a child’s bedroom, on a lamp-base, the velvet of a sofa, or more boldly, in solid blocks of colour. Like the crazy architect Guillermo Santomà or the Italian duo from Studiopepe, it can be made to rub shoulders with other colours without a second thought: emerald green, a splash of orange and why not some blue. It’s all in the proportions, when you don’t want to venture as far as a stunning juxtaposition of shades. For this, the best idea is to use accessories. Piles of round cushions in pale pink mixed with white ones and (why not?) some deep red too, a candyfloss-coloured rug side by side with a blueberry coffee table… Oddly enough, pink goes with everything, as long you don’t take it too far. It should be treated with respect. A new colour palette, an elegance rediscovered – these are the very promises that pink is keeping at the start of this year. For spaces filled with sensuality, broken lines, a confident perspective – pink is the way to go.
