La Villa Rose. An evocative name for a concept just as suggestive, in the neighbourhood we call the New Athens, in the heart of the 9th arrondissement of Paris. Séverine Redon was the one who had the idea of these 150 metres town house. She is running the agency Artdicted she founded 10 years ago and, as she loves mixing, she wanted to give life to a sentence from the book
A Moveable Feast, by Hemingway: “It was like one of the best rooms in the finest museum except there was a big fireplace and it was warm and comfortable and they gave you good things to eat and tea and natural distilled liqueurs”. It’s a success. After Le Cœur, created with Maroussia Rebecq in 2014, now La Villa Rose is going to set the tone. In order to do this, several good fairies bent over the cradle of the last-born. Mathias Kiss, whose hallmark is on the stairs, Mathilde Jonquière, a skilled mosaicist, but also Gilbert Kann, who selected the furniture, and Victoria Wilmotte – we are going to discover her bar in May. These talents did not keep Séverine Redon waiting. The instigator started writing the story of La Villa Rose carried by an unfailing enthusiasm. A green break made by Debeaulieu couldn’t suit more “Une promesse de paradis”, first exhibition of floral sculptures by Giacomo Balla. Futuristic hallucinations which are still only the presages of a hybrid show that tends to keep us on tenterhooks for a long time. Next great moments: the culinary portraits by Marie Chemorin, a sort of taste and stage improvisations which invite words at the table. An open place you must visit. La Villa Rose gathers talents from everywhere and their energies radiate there. We leave the place light-hearted and with a lot of memories.
