Maude Brunschwig and Benjamin Bernet
Maude and Benjamin have been living in New York for a few years. They both grew-up in Paris, but would leave the Big Apple for nothing....

The Socialite Family remembers Elisa and Gaspard when they just settled in New York. It was 5 years ago. Both very ambitious, they arrived in New York to dig in there. And they made it. Gaspard is a former videogames producer and an entrepreneur at heart; he is now running Kapitall, an online investments platform he founded in the United States. If you please! Elisa is the ambassador of Lolita Lempicka perfumes in the United States. She is a very busy working girl, and collaborates on collections of perfumes of the family company with her mother Lolita. This spring, a capsule collection of organic and fair perfumes for women, in collaboration with the brand Ekyog, will see the day. Still with her mother, but Elisa will bring her personal touch on a new chapter of the first perfume. Finally, and it’s a first, a brand new collection of glasses is being created for Spring 2013. We met them in one of the coolest neighbourhood in New York, in the West Village. Elisa and Gaspard are early birds and welcomed us for breakfast with Honoré, their 2-years-old son, born in New York. Just like the spirit of Lolita Lempicka, Elisa’s apartment emits a flavour of romanticism, in a refined atmosphere, without frills and with a lot of character.
Elisa, what’s the place where you feel better when you’re home?
Our bedroom, since it is spacious, pared-down, calm and light.
What the best moment of the day for you?
On the evening, between 7 and 9, that is to say when I have Honoré for myself and then, when Gaspard comes home, we are the three of us and then just the two of us. I savour all of these moments.
Do you have a favourite colour?
I’m obsessed with colours! I use ranges of colours according to the use. For me, I choose a “Guy Bourdin” red, by touches: mouth, some Bakelite bracelets, a nail polish or a blouse. For decoration, black, white, wood and citrus colours. Vibrant shades for flowers, and for Honoré, I like mixing bright and neutral tones.
Where do you go when you are looking for a piece of furniture for your apartment?
Which brand do you always use?
Lolita Lempicka, of course, but also Carven and Vionnet.
Which designer piece would you dream of having?
Too difficult to answer! I’d say a giant picture of a rock and bohemian moment from the end of the 60’s and the beginning of the 70’s, my favourite period.
Which artist inspires you most?
The Beatles.
Acme on Great Jones Street is AWESOME!
Some other places you’d recommend?
To buy flowers, you must go in Chelsea neighbourhood, at US Evergreen. I love the bookshop Bookmarc in West Village, and if you want to see and buy beautiful photos, you must go to Morrisson Hotel Gallery. If you love vintage as I do, go to Manhattan Vintage Show, Armarcord in the neighbourhood of Nolita and Edith the Machinist in the Lower East Side. You can find vintage for men at Melet Mercantile in Soho. For children, I recommend to go to Yoya and Crewcuts. For ready-to-wear and jewels: Kirna Zabëte, Phillip Lim and J.Crew. Stop at Café Cluny in the West Village and have a drink at The Waverly Inn. Finally, if you want to buy gifts or souvenirs from New York, there is Kaas Glassworks.
