Barely having arrived on the streets of the Puces du Design antique market event, we feel like a little girl again. The stallholders fascinate us, and their furniture has our imagination running wild. We chat with them, linger in their stalls so that we can get a good look at everything – crockery, sofas, armchairs and even lamps. From covered – un-used – furniture, to that rare piece that the collectors are all coveting. We marvel at the beauty of the wood, the workmanship that links the pieces to a specific period and the stories that the stallholders share with us. The great thing about these temporary exhibitions is that you can delve a little deeper into the story of a designer. This time, it is the work of Pierre Paulin that is being honoured – the chance to have another look at his classic pieces and to take a seat on each of the models on display.
Les Puces du Design, next edition in 2016 November 17th to 20th.
