Boris Vian and his musical chair

We know Boris Vian the writer but there was also Boris Vian the singer who, standing 2 metres tall, made a chair in the 1950s to suit his height so that he could comfortably play his favourite instrument, the guitar. A unique and startling creation, the chair’s T-square angles are highly original. Thomas Mailender and Ivan Mietton, two iconoclastic artists, could not resist adopting the chair. Under the name Perfect Documents, Thomas and Ivan later opened their own publishing house for furniture and, of course, started with the musical chair.
